Head Coach Larry Lewis
Overall thoughts
"As you look at it, it wasn't a perfect game, but I thought we did a real good job in a lot of different areas."
On the running game
"You know we have a good offensive line that can make some holes, and we feel that we have a good group of running backs that all bring different things to the table."
On Matt Hagler
"He did a great job of taking what Southern Utah was giving us, and making the smart play. I thought our whole team did a good job, Matt included, of staying with the game plan, both on offense and on defense."
On the defensive effort
"You have to be happy with only allowing six yards rushing. I thought last year our defense was a good defense, they were just put into some bad situations by our offense. We had a lot of young guys and new guys out there, and they did a good job of sticking with it. Really, we didn't have a lot of lapses."
Quarterback Matt Hagler
On his offensive line
"The offensive line did a great job today. They worked their butts off."
On the running game
"As a quarterback, to have a running game like we do is incredible. It takes so much pressure off and does so much for you. It's really, really nice."
On facing ISU's defense during the week
"Our defense puts a lot of pressure on us (in practice) and they do a lot to stop us, and that's prepared us for this."
On the game plan
"I think that we went into this game and we knew we were going to run, and we have two great running backs, actually, we have four great running backs, and we knew they were going to do their job. That was our game plan and we stuck with it."
On his touchdown pass to Lacey
"With Akilah, I don't think it matters who they put on him, because I don't think they can guard him, and he made the play.
On his comfort level in his first start
"I felt really good out there actually. I felt real confident that I had such a great offensive line in front of me, and I also knew that with the personnel we have on offense, they would make my life easy."
