Pocatello, ID-- The America Sky Golf Conference announced Kyle Prolo as First Team All-Conference. The awards were based on an average of the Golfstat and Golfweek rankings. Prolo's excellent season ensured his spot on the First Team. In the American Sky Conference Championship Prolo tied for fourth place. He shot a 71, one under par, in the first round and a 73, one over par, in the second round to shoot an even 144 for the Championship. Prolo finished his career as a Bengal by capturing Idaho State's lowest career scoring average record in their last year of competition with a 74.22 average. In 2007, Prolo achieved the lowest scoring average for a season with 74.04 in Idaho State history. This season, Prolo finished just under the school record he set with a scoring average of 74.14 over nine events. Prolo also finished his career with a tie for the 3rd lowest round in school history with a first round score of 68 (-4) in the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate. He finishes his career with seven top-ten finishes, the second best in Idaho State men's golf history. Prolo also holds the second best career rounds of par or better with 17 rounds and has achieved seven top-twenty finishes. A.J. Oleksak, a senior from Hartford University was named the Player of the Year, while his coach, Bill Poutre, earned the Coach of the Year award. Weber State's Keaton Woodland and Stephen Bidne from Northern Colorado were named Co-Newcomers of the Year. |
