Complete Dixie Classic Round 3 Results

St. George, UT--The Idaho State women's golf team captured 12th place in the Dixie Classic at Entrada at Snow Canyon Wednesday morning. The Bengals finished with their best round of the tournament as a team shooting a 344 (+56) for a three-round score of 1051 (+187).

Senior Hannah Venn held her lead for the Bengals when she finished with a three-round score of 249 (+33) to tie for 51st place. Venn had a first round score of 84 (+12), a second round score of 82 (+10) and a third round score of 83 (+11). Katie Phillips, a sophomore, tied for 57th place with a three-round score of 256 (+40). Phillips finished with a third round score of 84 (+12).

Freshman Kylie Smith improved from the second round by eleven strokes when she shot an 87 (+15) in the third round to capture 65th place. Smith shot a three-round score of 270 (+54). Sadie Venn, a freshman, took 68th place with her three-round score of 282 (+66). Junior Alysia Hall finished in 69th place with a three-round score of 289 (+73).

Brigham Young held the tournament lead during all three rounds, but struggled in the third round with a score of 304 (+16). Brigham Young finished with a three-round score of 889 (+25). Taking home the individual title is Juli Erekson of Brigham Young who finished with a three-round score of 215, one under par making her the only athlete under par at the end of the three rounds.

The Bengals next competition will be April 7-8th in Chandler, Arizona at the Cowgirl Classic.
